COVID-19: MORE THAN 12 THOUSAND REQUESTS FOR TAX AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

The number of companies registered on the platform entreprise.finances.gov.tn intended to alleviate the repercussions of the Covid-19 epidemic has reached 5278. These companies submitted 12498 requests for support. Since each company can benefit from more than one measure.

These requests are divided between tax support measures (42%) and financial measures (44%). This is stated in a press release from the Ministry of Finance, published this Thursday. In this regard, the Ministry recalls that the last deadline for registration on the digital platform entreprise.finances.gov.tn is set for May 30, 2020. And this, according to the decree of the Minister of Finance of May 8, 2020, relating to the creation of the Accompaniment and support Commission for companies affected by the repercussions of the Coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19).

Indeed, the Commission is currently working on examining the applications, based on their compliance with the conditions set. The Commission refers in its work to the simplified reports submitted by companies on the platform. Auditors or accredited accounting professionals will have to prepare the reports, as appropriate.

In addition, it should be noted that the Ministry of Finance announced, on May 11, 2020, the launch of this digital platform. And this, for the supervision and support of stricken companies that have suffered the economic repercussions of the general health lockdown.

Therefore, this online platform allows the receipt of requests from economically stricken companies. This is to take advantage of tax and financial measures. Indeed, the decree-law 2020-6 of April 16, 2020, on fiscal and financial measures to reduce the effects of COVID-19 introduced these measures. Its objective is to maintain employment positions and guarantee the sustainability of companies, vital for the Tunisian economy.
